Welcome to the Bright-Eyed Sinner’s Sanctum, my happy little hideaway from the encroaching forces of Everything Else.
My ‘nym is Fairchilde; alternately I use titles like the Bright-Eyed Sinner, the Rambling Red Wizard, the Mad Prophet of the Toymaker God, and the Dream-Druid of Distant Iv. Really those titles only mean anything to me, but if you stick with me long enough, you’ll find out why.
I am a student of mysticism and esoterica, and my methods lean heavily on sorcery and chaos magic. I’ve been divining and practicing magic for eight years, going from Baby’s First Wicca to Animism to Russian Folk Magic, and taking a hard left turn into chaos magic and the study of the many hoax-grimoires called the Necronomicon. I take a practical approach to spellcraft and divination: if it works, I use it. If it’s not broken, I don’t fix it.
Most of the contents of this blog, my Sanctum, are my own pretentious rambles on Magic, Dreams, and Divinity; but here and there you’ll find my love of Discworld, TTRPGs, bookbinding, and crafting shining through. You can find me on tumblr @approaching-the-scrungularity , and on Instagram as rambling.magus, where I am far less active.
I have very few and very basic values. Treat people with courtesy. Turn away from what doesn’t hurt you. Help if you can. Don’t harm if you can help it. Choose what you love, and build your life around that love, defending it at all costs. Simple enough.
